Body Label on 2017 GS Question
Is there a label near the dry sump tank regarding how to check the dry sump oil level? Could have sworn there was such a label which seems to have disappeared after the last warranty oil change.

On my '16 Z there is a label, actually a plastic tag, which is held on by the "screw part" of the cap. It shows (in pics) the wait time/temp/engine not running, etc. advice.

IMO knowing why you are doing what it says is more important-and May help you remember. Even the Owner’s Manual that provides a detailed description of what to-do does not say why.
FIRST: The oil must be hot. Hot oil expands so to get an accurate reading get the car to normal operating temp.
SECOND:Wait 5 minutes after you shut the engine off to check. It’s not just an empty tank. It has baffles to help separate the oil from air. If you are going to empty the oil pan have to also pump a lot of air with the oil! That 5 minutes let’s the oil drain down from the baffles. It drains faster when hot as well.
THIRD: Don’t wait more than 10 minutes to check or too much oil will drain back to the pan past the oil scavage pump gears and you’ll get a false low reading. (For fun I checked after the car sat for a few days and before I started the engine. The level was below the dip stick tip. That is ~5 quarts under min! Have no fear, as soon as the engine starts it fills the dry sump tank!)
Hope that helps some remember the recommended proceedure.
