Default Z06 grill not very good at keeping out leaves

Noticed a real pile up between the two radiators yesterday, piled up where the two meet. I'm guessing no gap between them to let them pass through. Might want to check what's piling up in yours.

Actually, the fact that the z06 grille allows more debris through to hit and clog the radiator is one of the reasons I will never change the stock Stingray grille. When I do get a few leaves on the radiator, I use a brush to remove the bugs and debris, then either vacuum out with extension or pick it up with a loop of masking tape on a stick.

Gonna have to say I'm going to make an extension for my shop vac, while the leaf blower sounds like the ticket because of course they are leaves there is no way to get behind enough to blow them out. Both corners have big leave, the entire bottem filled with the smaller FL oak leaves.

Ok while I do realize cleaning out this area is a little OCD, I emptied out my shop vac previous to cleaning it out to see what accumulating in there...

Unless your stock grill has a screen attached to it, I don't think it's going to do a great job of keeping trash out of the radiator either. I'll clean out the debris when it is causing an issue. The Z06 grill kicks the stock grill's *** when it comes to looks.

A little OCD? How about a lot OCD.

Never even looked in there on my ‘14. No problems of any kind in 4 years of daily driving.

However, you didn't dispute that the holes in the OEM grill don't stop trash from hitting the radiator. For the grill to function as a trash stopper, it'd need to be like the "no see-um size" screen that I have on my back patio. Even if you had that screen on it, what stops stuff from going into the hood louvers?

Me thinks we shall be going down a very large rabbit hole discussing trash infiltration on our cars and the radiator blockage it entails.

Thus, I'm back to my opinion! Going up in the mid 60s today! Time to take the car out for a trash vacuum run!

Non Z06's don't have this issue, My Z51 never had anything there. The Z06 has coolers on the bottom as well so leave have nowhere to go.

That's your opinion. I prefer the looks of the Stingray grille.

Yes, car had less then 3k on it at this time, about 3 months old. The cigarette butt is a nice plus.
