Default One Tire Low

45 degrees outside. This morning rr tps read 24; others read 34. Filled rr to 34. Couldn’t find a leak. Drove an hour at 70 mph to work and all tires tps reading 35. What caused the 24 reading this mornig. Anyone else ever experience this?

Maybe a reading left over from the last time you drove the car. Sometimes all the sensors do not update simultaneously.

But were all the others really 34 or had they just not updated?

Good point. But they were all reading 35 after 15 minutes on the road.

My LR would leak down over 2-3 weeks.

Looked for a Screw/Nail, Aired it up to 60lbs, still could not find a leak.
Also checked the valve...

Was on my way down to FL and got a Low Tire Pressure warning.
Stopped and filled it up
Two days later, got the warning again. Took it into a Goodyear shop
in FL. They took the tire off and found a small thin nail.

It had busted/wore off the head and the tires rubber had covered
the location of the nail.

Patched it from the inside and has not leaked since...

Regards
Chip

Usually this means you have a slow leak somewhere and eventually you'll find out.

Same thing happened to me. Aired up. Didn't happen again. I had the same thought tho, what exactly happened?

Mystery never solved.

Sounds like a good chance of this. If you have Cup 2s I know from experience they are really soft and easy to puncture. Picked up a screw in the first 500 miles. Then got a nail about 700 later. I'd look them over really good before getting to far from home.

Check the Valve Stem Nut, some times they need a slight tightening!

Right, if they all equaled out after driving a good distance, they they must be alright.

Not true. I had a screw and drove from Portland to Seattle over a weekend. Didn't get to 25psi until Monday.

The point was if you set all the tires the same pressure, and after consistent driving they are still all reading the same, then there is at least not a problem that would cause one tire to read 10 PSI low, and then come back up to equal the others.

True that it may take a tire driving some distance to drop to 25 psi, but the pressure would not come back up to equal the others. When that tire got down to 25PSI, what were the other tires reading?

I had the same problem turned out bad gasket for the tpms sender. ( probably not installed correctly in the first place) It was not GM's fault it was my winter tires. Firestone would not fess up but not a biggie the bill was only $30

I had a similar problem and was losing 2-3 lbs per weeks. I thought it was a bent/cracked wheel, which I've had cause this type of problem on other cars. The dealer checked it and couldn't find anything. Then I took it to a *good* tire shop (Shafer's in Burlingame, CA) and there was a difficult to find small nail in the tire, with the head ground off. They patched and balanced it and I was good to go. Take your car to a good shop.

I once had a new tire that was slowly losing air. It took several trips to several shops before the tire was removed and they found a little piece of rubber in the bead that caused a leak when driven.

They tires will read low when it's cold outside, but as the tires warms and the air expands they should settle into the proper reading. Mines all over the place with the cold weather we've been having here in North Carolina. I try to keep my tires at 32 psi, and when cold they will read low when I start out. Of course with you living in Florida it depends on where you are located for this theory to make a difference.

Either you have small nail in the tire or your valve stem gasket is leaking. The proper torque on the valve stem nut is 10 Nm or ~88 lb-inches.
