600,000 mile C2
Latest issue of Corvette Magazine has an article on the car and owner. 327 engine replaced @ 300,000+ miles with a crate engine then drive around 100k more, and then the owner rebuilds the original motor and keeps on driving. Probably almost as amazing is that a daily driver over such a long span of time has never been involved in an accident.

Killer. Not only does the guy drive the wheels off of it, but it's an un-loved 'problematic first year' '63 roadster. Seems like a pretty reliable car to me....Much more interesting than a 20,000 mile garage queen that never got out in the sun and run through the gears.

Wow, great story. He's done double what I've done in my 65. I'm at around 300,000 with the original motor, 2 rebuilds. Original rear end has never been out of the car. Original rotors. Original tranny still in the car, 2 rebuilds. It was my daily driver in the early 70's, now it's a fair weather cruiser.

I love this guy's attitude towards the old car......
“People are surprised that I drive the ’63 as much as I drive the new one, which, by any measure, is an amazing car,” he reflects. “Everyone says the old girl can’t do anything as well as a new Corvette, but that’s not really true. The new one goes faster, stops better, handles better, has a great stereo, is more comfortable, gets better gas mileage and has ice-cold air conditioning. But the ’63 holds memories that can’t be replaced, and there is one thing it actually does a little bit better than the C7, which is put a really big smile on my face every time I take it out for a drive.”

Seriously, I am very gentle on the brakes and anticipate stops. I've been through a few sets of pads but never a rotor. They don't stop that well any more. Probably glazed. May be time to change them.
