Beautiful 73 LS4 Corvette, 454 now 496, 4-Speed, $21,500
Beautiful 1973 Corvette with rare LS4 option (454 engine) and black leather interior. Car underwent a nut-&-bolt restoration that was finished two years ago. She has less than 2000 miles on her since. I bought her 10-11 years ago.
Options? If you were purchasing a new Corvette in 1973, you would check all the options this Vette has:
Power Brakes
Power Steer
Power Windows
Leather Interior
A/C (blows cold!)
LS4 Big Block 454 (stroked to 496)
Muncie 4-Speed (with Auto-Gear SuperCase and other upgrades)
3.36 Rear Gears (with Posi-Traction)
AM/FM Stereo (works great)
Tilt & Telescopic Steering Wheel
The restoration started with a nice car to begin with. Only the best parts and upgrades were used. Here's a brief list:
The Engine:
Original 454 block that now displaces 496 cubic inches with a new Scat Stroker Crank
Brodix Race Rite O-Port Aluminum Heads
SRP Pistons (approx 10.25:1 compression)
Forged Scat Rods
Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller 270 Camshaft (.510 lift, 218/224 duration at .050)
Comp Cams Magnum full roller rockers
Aluminum Water Pump
Edelbrock Performance Fuel Pump
Original Q-Jet carb (with performance upgrades)
Hooker Super Comp Headers (1-7/8" Primaries)
L36 Aluminum Q-Jet Intake, GM # 3947801, used on 390 horse 427's in the late 60's (very rare)
Delco Mini-Starter
More:
Centerforce II Clutch
Muncie M-20 tranny (2.52 first gear)
Hurst Shifter
2.5" Mandrel bent exhaust
Dynomax Super Turbo Mufflers
Dewitt's Aluminum Radiator
Petronix Electronic Ignition with 45,000v Coil (original Distributor)
VBP Rear Leaf Spring
Biltsein Shocks on all four corners
Optima Yellow-Top Battery
Steering box rebuilt by Lares
New Ram, hoses, etc
Rebuilt original calipers, etc
The Vette is an absolute blast to drive especially with the T-Tops removed and she gets the attention when driving down the road. The 496 gives the driver plenty of HP to keep the Adrenalin flowing. The transmission shifts extremely smooth. The clutch is easy to work. The exhaust tone has a low, muscle-car, big block rumble. The Midnight Blue paint is in B+ shape. There are two cracks in the fiberglass (see photos; the front bumper cover and the right-front fender) but they could be repaired. The horn has recently quit on me. I'm getting 12v to the horn but no sound. I tried to buy a good used GM horn, but couldn't find one. I would send it to off to be rebuilt. The AM/FM Stereo radio works great as it was rebuilt which included having the the speakers re-coned. The power windows work great. All the gauges work great, even the clock. The A/C blows cold. The Vette wears the original glass with the 'Astro Ventilation' logo on both the door windows. Vette has BFG tires with very few miles. The interior is in A or A+ shape. The beautiful leather is tight with no tears, etc. The cowl induction system is functional; feeds fresh air to the carb when the throttle is 'dropped'. The car handles like a Vette; nice and tight. She tracks straight as an arrow. Pop-up headlights work great as do the wipers and washer. The undercarriage is as clean as it gets. The car leaks nothing.
These LS4's Vettes are rare and original BBC Vettes are getting hard to find, especially at the price. Only 4412 LS4's were made in 1973. BTW, an LS4 in '73 had more HP than any Vette '72.
Car is a true "Z" car; VIN # 1Z37Z3S412393. Trim Tag reads "404" (black leather) "927" (dark blue paint). I have a good clean Texas title. Obviously, I have a lot more in this car than what's it's selling for but I'm having to sell because I have no place to keep this great car. I'm happy to answer any questions; don't hesitate. Call Wes at 512-960-5843. I'm located in Leander TX (near Austin) if you wish to see the car. $21,500

Appreciate your appreciation. Yeah, a lot of work went into her but I had fun doing it. Obviously, I have a LOT more money in this car than what I'll be selling her for. Thanks again. Wes

Safety Car
Your car is a beauty. C3’s are THE Vettes from my early years. I’d love to come see yours. I’ll pm you if I can make it work with the wife. Would you happen to know of any shops that do the body work she needs?

WE have a great body shop here in Missouri, he is noted by all the cars that go thru to the BIG auctions such as Mecham etc. He did my paint job on my 76. He always has 67's, and other C2s and many C3s, working on them. He also does many metal body cars.
He does it by the hour, no estimates. Red Line finishes on the internet.
Good Luck with your new car, who ever bought it.
