Default Sport Cup 2 Flat repair ???

My right front Cup 2 tire has a nail in it, I have no problem getting it patched, but is this tire toast as far as tracking goes ? I have looked everywhere and couldn't find anything to advise me whether this tire is safe on the track once patched.

Depends on location. If more in the center but away from edge a few inches patching will be fine.

No repair for speed-rated tires if intent is to drive at or near max rated speed. Otherwise probably not a big deal if location is as described above.

Make sure you get it ‘plug-patched’ as Michelin recommend, and if the nail is not within 1 1/2” of the sidewall you’ll be fine.

Lots of other posts re. tire repair. In my case (same R. F.), I had the 'double' patch done (plug AND patch). 3,500 miles since repair including some track (up to 140 mph on front straight before hard left) with no issues.

It isn't a big deal. Even if the plug failed and let all of the air out you would still have a run flat tire that is self supporting. All you would have to do after that is slow down and drive back to the pits.

I had 2 holes (Nail) in my driver rear Mich Cup 2 after only 1,200 miles. gravel road, inspecting a vacant REO (bank owned house) '17 GS. Bad choice. My $ 500. fee cost me $ 500. + time.
Run flats did nothing. I added 2-3 lbs of air everyday until I couldn't take it anymore and bought a new tire. Dealer would not sell just (1), I had to take it to tire dealer and get a Tire Rack one shipped.
So now I have a plugged one in garage with 1,200 miles on it. "For Sale" $ 100. U pick up. Getting Conti Extreme in the spring for all 4 end of March +/- . I love how they "stick" to a dry road.
