Default Oil Fill Tube Removal

Dumb question, but how do you remove the filler tube from the valve cover so that I can see the valve spring color?

It's a one time installation. If you remove it you will break the tab that locks when installed. At least that's what happened to me. Best to either use a small dental mirror or remove the cover, whichever is easier. You can also buy an inexpensive borescope from Amazon that will link to your phone.

There are no dumb questions if you don't know the answer.

Pull the valve cover off, very simple. I bet you can have it off in 5 minutes.

The fill tube is designed to snap into place ONCE. If you twist it to remove it, you break the tab that locks it in place. That tab may fall into your valvetrain, not a place you want it to call home.
