Splash guards
I see they sell splash guards for the corvette - are these worth putting on? I see a lot of people get stone chips along the sides of the car, I'm thinking these would help a bit to decrease that. Anybody have them installed on their cars that could recommend a brand?

I believe they are worth it for the addl protection, and installed a set on my GS as soon as I brought it home. I went with the ACS splash guards, since they are slightly larger than the ones GM offers.

GM'S Are Stealthy.I have them with skirts.Zero chips 6k miles. No ppf film on the sides.Others modify some to fit and other company's make wider.
I like the hidden look.

They are worth the money IMHO. They were the very first thing I put on my C7. However, a larger projectile must have skipped off the left front tire, and found the left rear quarter panel protective cover. I ordered a set of side skirts shortly after that. I suggest you also look into side skirts to help deter those bouncing objects.

I put the GM on mine front and back and like them. You can augur they don't offer quite as much protection as some, however I like how they blend into the overall design as opposed to sticking out and noticed at a glance.

No need to remove the wheels, just turn the wheel all of the way outward on the side that your working. Just one screw on the bottom to be removed and peel the insert away popping out the the clips starting at the top and working down one by one. Be careful of the clips scratching the paint. Mine chipped the paint where they popped out of the holes, but it's hidden underneath and not visible. I installed the ACS unit on the front of my GS and have the GM's on order for the rear. I'm satisfied so far and value the added protection.

You can put the GM splash guards on yourself....only one screw to remove on each one, and the rest are clips into the fender...no need to remove wheels...literally takes 10-15 minutes.
I have factory guards with no side skirts, and have really not had much problem with small rock chips.

Yeah, I did the little OEM ones. A breeze to install, adds a tine bit of extra protection for little money, and do not look wonky.

I had the GM ones on my C7 - SUPER easy to install - about 10 minutes. No removing the wheels, just a couple of screws.
I lemon lawed the car and took them off because I bought them after the purchase. I think I even still have the bags and I know I have the instructions. If you're interested in them, PM me. Will let them go for a fair price. I had 6,500 miles on the car.

Kevin, Did you get your GM guards from the dealer or a better price from an online vendor?

Added the GM splash guards as soon as I got my 2014 Z51. IMO fronts did little, rears were fine. I was still getting the heavy GM protective plastic marked by pebbles thrown from the front tires.
Installed full length side skirts. No more marking and I drive over many pebbles. Was able to remove the GM plastic. When I sold the 3 1/2 year old car the rocker panels and side skirts looked new!
When I ordered the Grand Sport also got the Stage 2 aero package that come with full length carbon fiber side skirts. From forum suggestions also installed ACS front splash guards (they are wider and deeper than GM.). Installed GM splash guards in rear.
In 9 months no marks on the Grand Sport rocker panels or the rear fender brake ducts. Have an area near my home where an intersecting gravel road brings many pebbles on our paved road. Sounds like a tambourine! They are only hitting the bottom of the side skirts. In the rural area where I live have many narrow roads with narrow shoulders with some gravel that gets pulled on to the pavement as well. The solution to thrown pebbles is to add side skirts.

I think they help quite a bit, which might be surprising considering how small they are.
I have the GM ones bought from RPI painted in Carbon Flash to match the other black trim on the car - just not a fan of the cheap black plastic look.
Attached are photos of them (same RPI painted carbon flash - on the GS I also added the RPI spats painted WGG) on my 2014 Stingray and 2018 GS.
