Default short throw shifters

I own a 2004 C5 ... installed a Hurst shifter 5 yrs. ago and never really like the vibrations, shifting to 3rd vibration is just to much for me.
I pulled it and reinstalled double checking the installation always the same result
I've own this car since new and I am considering a 2017 LT I may sell the 04 but very low mileage 21,000 .... not sure I want to give it up for the value it has at this time....
I pulled the hurst shifter and reinstalled the stock shifter the throw is considerably longer what would be best replacement that does not have a vibration

The Hurst shifter in my '02 has been in place since 2005 and I have never felt any sort of vibration in any gear or going to or from any gear.

The shifter came with 2 extra springs that controls the amount of stiffness in the shifter. Did your shifter come with extra springs and if so, have you tried any of the others?

If you really don't like the Hurst shifter, you may want to try a C6 shifter. They are supposed to cut down the throw and provide a better feel.

I've tried Hinson and B&M short shifters. Both rattled @ high rpm. Switched back to oem c5z and just deal with longer throws.

At least it's minimal effort and going into 1st and reverse is not an issue as it was with other 2.
If i come across a good deal on C6Z shifter, i might swap to that.

I also tried Hinson and a few others. The best for me was the stock C6 shifter.

MGW is another popular/excellent aftermarket option.

Many on here rave about the MGW. I have a B&M myself and love it. It shifts perfectly for me.

I had a B&M shifter in my 98, hated it. Replaced it with a C6 Z06 shifter, loved it.
Have a B&M shifter in my 99, love it. Don't know why the one in my 98 sucked so bad but I like this one in my 99.
Have a MGW in my 02, love it too.

I had a B&M Ripper in my 98... it rattled. When I got my o4 Z I tried the "improved" B&M Sport Shifter for C5/C6. It has rubber isolation in the lever similar to the OEM and reduces the throw by 30%. No rattles. Last year when I bought my 00 FRC I installed another B&M Sport Shifter.... leave the oem bushings on the lower box.

As mentioned, a considerable number of posts have been made touting the quality and drivability of the MGW shifter.

I think the MGW shifter is the absolute best shifter there is for the C5. I absolutely love mine. Smooth, short shifts and very little vibration. They also have options for running any type of shift **** including using a stock C6 shift ****.

Calloway makes numerous high quality aftermarket parts for our cars. I installed a Honker intake which looks like an OEM item and works very well. Calloway also manufactures a shifter. Just curious why I never read or hear anything about it. I did install a C6 shifter that I shortened and have been very happy with it compared the the stock unit.
Regards,
Chas

I actually traded-in my original MGW for their updated version with their lower box.

I must say that while I loved the original MGW, their new version with their lower box was/is a HUGE improvement to their already excellent design.
