Default C6Z wheels repros or real?

I am the owner of a new to me C6Z with Chrome spider wheels that i dont care to much for and am looking to sell them. Is there a simple way that i can determine if they are oem or not?

thanks in advance.

OE will have ‘Speedline’ stamped on back side of the wheel, usually ‘made in Italy’ or ‘Mexico’

What year Z did you buy? Spyders did not become an option until 2009 model year. Although if its an 06-08, someone could have bought original Spyders. I have them on my 06 and love them. Most folks who see my car usually love the wheels. To each his own.

Thank you for the quick responses. It is an 09, Black on Black. It’s not the design of the wheel that I don’t care for, it’s that they are chrome, don’t get me wrong they look great. However, I am thinking that a high gloss black would look so much better. Will they say GM on the outside of the rim, or do I need to pop a wheel off?

thanks again.

Pop the wheel off, it will say Speedline, Italy and GM on the inner side of the spokes if it is OEM. I don't think any of the OEM C6Z wheels were made in Mexico.

What size wheels came on the 2009 Z’s? If they are oem chrome wheels, I may be interested in buying them. Let me know via pm.

The OEM cups are very expensive and only in 19/20s. There is nothing wrong with the quality or finish of FR repros. Spyders, Cups in chrome, black etc.. All the C7 wheels are China made now and Factory Reproduction wheels are a better made wheel than the C7s . Don't be misinformed. FACT.

I agree, the only real best looking chrome C6Z wheel are the spyders! Wish mine came with them. Racy and classy!

Sorry to butt in ...but it's highly likely that they are OEM chrome spyders as it is an 09. Size is the same as previous years 18x9.5/ 19x12.

True of C7s, but C6 wheels were (mostly) made in Italy by Speedline. Real FACT.

You can have your chrome spyders powder coated in any color your mind fancies for a lot less than the cost of new wheels. I did mine. I think they look great and have held up to autocrossing, road racing, and a hell of a lot of hiway miles. Consider that if you like the design, just not the chrome.

OP is a new member and with all the wheel talk of made in China or Mexico and being an owner of a C6Z he may not know all the common knowledge you know. He wanted to know how he could tell if his Z wheels were OEM or not and "made in Italy" is one of the identifiers so not a real fact to OP, who's thread this is.
