Default Front end rebuild

I've decided to rebuild the front suspension this winter.
After much reading posted documents here from the well informed members got started.

I have a question about my upper control arms. In any information I've seen they should be stamped steel and as you see these are not. Any ideas what or where these may have come from?

Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge and experience from everyone here.

That does look interesting. Something I would expect to find in Cuba.

Any UCA from ANY 1949-1954 full size chevy is identical to the Corvette UCA.

Plenty around, members here, ebay, whatever.

From what I've been told about the car it was purchased by a Vietnam vet returning in California in 1970 then drove to Indiana, Ohio some where.. They owned it until 2010. Mershon and then Pro team had it where St Benards Church purchased it for their raffle in 2013.
The front end has been apart at one point as the Lh spindle was labels as such.
last spring I added the disc breaks with out any problems.

Thanks

I have been able to locate a pair of control arms from a forum member. Thanks Jim..
Also I've found a lower bushing not installed all the way.

it doesn't look homemade, so it must have been made for something...

No, its not home made, but in Cuba, they got real good at modifying parts from one vehicle, to fit another. The I beam design on that UCA almost looks like a Ferrari part, or something.

It's been a while since i have added any thing to this rebuild, but like just replacing the faucet in the bathroom one thing leads to another...

front end going back in

Out comes the engine

Been in an accident sometime in its life. (FTF) I found why the air cleaner was hitting the hood, the core support was not bolted to the RH inner fender.....

Fiber glass repair by a good friend...

Along with the other damage, they cut a hole in the hood for the generator bracket......

All black again

Rebuild trans

Carbs and intake all cleaned and ready

Clean, prime and paint the front part of the frame

Ready to go back in

Front parts together...

Now working on the back rebuild

Springs rebuilt and ready to go..
