66 B.B. headrest
I just purchased my first c2. It s a silver roadster with new leather interior. The previous owner replaced the old vinyl w new leather and added headrest!! I’m not a huge fan of the headrest!! I believed it takes away from the lines of the car. I know they can be removed and it will show a small bezel on the top of the seat. Would anyone remove the headrest and leave the bezel look in the seat or remove the entire bracket and recover the seats? Any thoughts?

Headrest seat backs are a costly option for people who want to add them. Under that chrome bezel is a support frame for the headrest insert that is welded to the seat back frame, so if you want to retain your original seat backs, you'll just need to remove the bezels and buy new covers.
Another option is to swap your seat backs with the headrests to someone willing to trade for non-headrest seat backs. You don't mention what color your interior is, but if black, there are LOTS of people with black non-headrest cars that would trade you. If they are silver, there will be a lot less. But you should end up money ahead when the swap is done.
Headrests in a 66 are a fairly rare option, and I personally like them so I'm keeping mine. Fyi, Bill

If you're going to drive the car and you're ever hit from behind, your head is going to take a nasty rap on the deck lid without the headrests. Since they're already there, why not keep them?
Otherwise do as Bil says and trade them. Lots of people will want them.

I would leave them. There aren't many injury prevention features in these old cars for when a soccer mom, texting her friends while driving her Suburban rear ends you - but they are one. If you don't like the look for cruise night or at shows, pop them out and store in the luggage area.

My 66 has headrests but I keep them in storage.

Last year, I upgraded my vinyl seats to leather and added headrests. Haven’t decided whether I prefer the look with or without them but I do like the safety factor. While my mind was on safety, I also replaced my lap belts with 3-point belts.

Note: to remove your headrests, just pull up on them and they come out.
