The "wheel gap" is a design flaw with the C7.
For some reason, it seems only the Europeans get this right.

ZR1 runs a record lap for a production car at VIR, and we’re handwringing over “wheel gap”?

The wheel gap is due to the design of the suspension, and mostly being the leaf Spring. I remember reading somewhere that the flex needed for the leaf Spring is greater then a coilover setup which almost every other car has. If you ever notice the corvette only suffers this, the camaro, and CT’s-v don’t. In fact the camaro almost comes perfect just about everyone Iv seen. I always pay attention to the cars wheel gaps and it amazes me how Porsche gets there tire to tuck, there really isn’t anymore room inside the fender then we have on our cars yet I couldn’t fit a finger between the fender and tire, but then Again I love my Z06 and bought LG spindles and problem solved

The z07 suspension should have come this way for on the factory
I am always in awe of my buddies GT3 stance from the factory
That c7ZR1 would be complete imho with the LG drop spindles
yes, drop spindles are by far the most effective way
just installed them last week.

The wheel gap is preferred by GM for shipping purposes. Also the reason they leave the skirts and splitters off for shipping. Lowering on stock bolts is easy.
