Default Horn Issues

As you see from the pic the plastic tube where the spring and contact pin is gone. Yep, I broke the top half that the retainer turns into.
Is there a replacement for that plastic tube or is it a part of another part that you get to by pulling the wheel.

If you're talking about the hole there at about the 7oclock spot there is a plastic retainer that goes in from the front to hold the pin.

Any of the corvette places (maybe even NAPA) will have the whole kit

if it's something else you're referring to....then I don't know the answer

This is what you need IF you broke the white plastic tube.

What I should have asked is! Is there anything under the lower contact spring that effect the horn function.
Didn't mean to confuse you lvmyvt76.

It is possible that the plastic cover that goes over the U clip can be old and break easily.

IF it breaks...your horn will blow continuously until it either drains the battery or melts the horn relay due to excessive heat in it. AND...it can also heat up and damage the sporing in the upper contact in the photo below

When you get the column down to the point that you can remove the part you are replacing. The end of the spring on what you are replacing makes contact with the lower horn contact.

If you take a wire and touch the brass portion of that lower horn contact and put it to a good ground point...you horn should blow.
