Default Anyone know what these wires are for?

So I have these two wires with Nuts on them underneath my front driver's side wheel well. One orange, one black, and they disappear into the wiring harness. Seems like there was probably some piece of equipment here at some point but now it's gone. Anyone know? Thanks

Hi T,
Which harness are the wires coming out of... the engine harness or the forward lighting harness?
Regards,
Alan

What doesn't work?

Sorry, it's a 72.

On my car, there are a lot of things that don't work. I'm actually not sure which harness it is, I was laying on the ground trying to take the picture because I can't see it from up above (and don't have ramps to get the car up higher).

Wiper motor is a good guess. Try hooking them to a voltmeter and see if you can switch voltage on and off with something somewhere on your dash.

My wipers actually work. However, the fluid doesn't, if that gives any clue (but that whole system with the bag and everything is missing, so not surprising).

Hi t,
Even if the bag, hoses, and fluid are missing you should still hear the washer pump cycle when you push the wiper switch in.
Instead of play 20 questions you might make a list of what doesn't work.

Alan

Looks like they are headed down to the back up light switch.

Ok, let's see here:

wipers work
fluid doesn't
headlights work
ac/heater don't (hoses not hooked up)
horn doesn't
backup lights and tail lights work (as far as I know) because they seem to work at night...however, I could be wrong.
tach doesn't work
speedometer works
lighter works
radio works
blinkers work
alarm doesn't work (never tried it, but would assume it doesn't)

The alarm doesn't work as far as I know. I've never tried it, but considering how well everything else works on this car, I would expect it to not work like everything else, lol.

I think you're right, the auto TCS SW looks like the missing piece probably.

i have removed my T400 and gone the 700r4 route, so mine are just tucked behind the heat shield.

your alarm probably does not work because of the door switches or hood switch or the alarm switch where the key is. May be a bad horn , (usually near the antenna base), or could be a relay. It easy to check out when you understand how it operates. The door switches are different from the other door switch(usually 2 switches on each door, for 2 different operations). Or it could be wiring disconnected like the wiring shown here!!!
