Fil.q. writing
Hi!
Removed the gas tank today to start tackling the rust on the rear. Sadly no build sheet, only a small corner, so someone removed it before... Found this written under the rear on my 79 vette.
What could IT be? Does it mean anything? Guessing 12/20 is the date, as mine was produced on 12/22/78.
Cheers

No idea but that sharpie ink seem too new to have been written 39 years ago. is it possibly a marking from the port/customs when it was imported?

That was puzzeling me too! It looks so new and fresh!
But dont think it was customs, could only see it with the gas tank removed, and that think hasnt been removed in the past 30 years judging by the rust on the bolts 😶

12-20 is likely to be a date. Could be an inspectors mark for the body panel although most marks usually include the year. I can't explain FIL.Q.
And, of course, it could simply be assembly line graffiti.
