Maybe ego.

But definitely a smart seller. Original jacks are golden.

I would have said yes, but apparently it sold. So, I guess not.

The graph of costs per NRCS point deduction does not appear to be a straight line function.

Think about how many points are deducted for not having an original jack, put that in the denominator, with $820 in the numerator and divide to find the value of a single NCRS point.

Dollar for points is the old saying. How much is a point worth to you.

OK, would not have thought it represented real value. I may need armed guards here!

Or don't leave your original jack in your Corvette at the car show.

I’ve wondered if my car is worth as much parted out (with the empty body used as a restomod husk) as it is in one piece.

Sometimes it's not about points per dollar or ego, it's about making the car as original as possible.

Probably more parted out, if it has enough rare options. Just like I see with guns. The parts are equal to more than the whole. 3-4 years ago, a guy on the Pontiac forum paid $5500 for a Quadrajet Carburetor core that needed a full restoration. It was coded for a '70 Ram Air GTO Judge with a 4 speed, and was the only item his car needed to be complete. He paid more for that Q-jet core than he did for the entire car 20 years earlier. Parts that are no longer made and are rare never/rarely drop in value.

Look at the price of the Z06 master cylinder - $15,000.00.
