67 factory ac sbc hood support
Gentlemen
My 66 factory AC car had the hood prop on the drivers side. The interference of the heater hoses and ac hoses dictated this change. The hood did not have threaded inserts on the driver side for the hood prop and the factory used a nut plate in the hood support
Did this practice continue for 67?

No, it did not. The '67 SB with factory A/C or without has the hood support mounted on the passenger side. The BB, on the other hand, had the hood support on the driver's side with or without A/C.

I have a '67 non-AC SB car with a BB hood that I believe is aftermarket.
There is a hood support on both sides. Each side looks the same and I can't tell by looking at it which would be original.
Why would somebody have 2 supports?
Is it possible my hood is OEM and came with the drivers side support so they used both?
How can I tell if this BB hood is OEM or a re-pop?

My GUESS is aftermarket. That way it could be mounted on either a SB or BB car. Since there were 2 different factory hoods they could be specific in the support location.

To my knowledge, OEM hoods only came with the nut plate on one side, but most GM service replacement hoods, came with nut plates on both sides. Aftermarket hoods come both ways, depending on the manufacturer.
