Default App for more than the engine/pollution control?

Is there one for obd2 in general (AN APP for a smart phone) that you guys know of ? Or suggestion on a much less expensive tool than the Tech 2? Thanks.

Link me up if it's already settled in another thread.

I have a Bludriver dongle for clearing codes and scanning, and I use a GoPoint for laptimer integration. Of course HPTuners makes a great general purpose OBD2 scanner for clearing codes and resetting crank timing etc

I use Torque Pro for checking and clearing codes as well as watching sensors. Understand that you'll need a decent bluetooth dongle to plug into your ODB port.

So does torque pro do bcm codes, pcm codes, all the modules that were "built in" to the c5 on the dash?

I have torque (free ver.) and I believe it's just engine & emissions .

Thanks.

I don't think it will do any GM specific modules/codes. I don't know if there are any tools short of a Tech2 that will do what you're after.

Really what would be enough, is a general purpose, multi make, code reader. So when a buddy at the track has an issue, and it's obd2 (or can) readable, you could plug in & maybe be able to help.

Froggy, I think the Torque App is your best bet. I use the "Pro" version. There are "extended GM and Ford" PIDs available, but even those are still engine and drive-train related. (I can get the trans temp on my C5Z) No BCM functions are there. If you upgrade to the "Pro"version, also download this plug-in: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...owl.torquescan

Plotting short term fuel trims and such is handy to help find mis-fires,
vacuum leaks and etc.

Good luck!

Tim

annoying video, but this guy found a Tech 2 simulator. I haven't used it, but it would do the trick.

You can try the EASE OBD2 software personal package. As I recall you load it to your PC and uses an ELM327 into the port. It looks like $140 for everything but the air bags (pre-OBD2 for C5 corvette). I had the original software/hard wire package 15 yrs ago and it read PCM and bi-directional for the ABS bleeding.
