Why am I getting cold feet?
I've been planning to pull the trigger on doing some work to my car and been really excited about it for a while. I was doing some head work, cam, full exhaust except the mufflers since I have active exhaust. Now that I'm about a month away I find myself worrying if it's the right thing to do. One day I want a z06 and think I'm going to ruin the value of the car. Bah, crazy brain thing going on here. I know I'll love it. I feel like a woman in a clothing store, lol

Is there a question in there besides the title?

Just save some of that money you’d spend on mods and get a Z06 later. If you’re not totally happy with your C7 now, pouring a bunch of money into it while still wanting something else will just slow you down toward reaching your goal.

Unless you're going to keep your C7 for a long time, don't waste the money on that level on mods. Only do bolt ons that can be removed and sold and return the car to stock when you sell it. It will be harder to sell a modified car one day if you want to sell it to trade up to a Z06.
I'd suggest just doing full bolt ons and then saving for a Z06. Not to mention, are you okay with how the drivability of the car will change? It may be a little more cumbersome to drive and get lower MPG. Just be prepared for those things.

Perhaps you are getting cold feet, because you are realizing it's not the right decision for you.

Sam, I think you're very smart to have cold feet. It's not worth it.

Most buyers are probably not up on car mods and like me avoid modded cars or motor bikes especially bikes where my life depends on it.

I have a 2014 z51 but did a ton of work on her blower C.F. parts headers exhaust. Then I saw the Z06 & wish I had just give it one more year. Plus now with the price drop & cuts I just pissed out the window about 20,k plus. Not being able to come out I just got thur doing a Z06 panel swap out on my car. Now yes I have a z06 clone with a blower on her & yes more rwhp also but still not a true Z06.
I will be keeping this car for sure now. Hope this helps you man..Robert

If you love your car and want more HP put a blower on for 10k. Only if you see owning the car another few years should you do that. If the cost to mod is greater than 25% or more than a Z06 upgrade wait and buy a Z06 if that’s something you’ll be able to afford. If money is not the issue move right into a Z06. God bless American that this is what keeps us up at night

You are having cold feet because you know it is a bad decision.
