Default possible to remove the power steering pump bracket from power pump

without removing the pulley on a 1986?

its the last accessory bracket i need to clean up and id like to unbolt the bracket from the pump, clean, put back.

I dip all my coated brackets in ild gasoline for a few days then the grime comes off easy with minor scrubbing.

Yes. The 3 bolts are hard to access and may turn only a small amount each time by flipping the open end wrench. I have seen someone drill a hole in the bracket tinaccess one of the bolts.

I didn't realize my "hole drilling operation" would be worth $50! Once you get the pump off the slow way, drilling the hole in the pulley is easy. That makes the re-installation and any subsequent removals easy.

You're going to have to post some engine bay pics once you're done cleaning it up!

Pictures are too honest!! I'm having too much fun driving the thing to worry about a little dirt! Toys get dirty when you get them out of the garage.

Your local Autozone will rent these to you at no cost. You essentially buy the component as the rental fee and they credit your card in full when you return.

I've done this many times for quite a number of tools. Actually simpler than drilling the hole in my opinion.

Good Luck

VT, I have that exact puller from P.A. Works well. Used it only once but it was on sale for 19.99.
