Default Longtube Headers worth the hassle of smog?

I just got my first corvette a little over 2 months ago and have been trying to decide whether or not if LT headers are worth having to take them off and reinstall them every two years for smog purposes (I'm in CA). The car is my daily and I enjoy the aggressive sound that they give the car, plus the slight preformance boost couldn't hurt
Anyone in CA running LT headers? If so, how do you get around it? Or do you just get them redone every couple years?

ls7 manifolds will probably be the closest you can get to headers without having headers... personally I would not want to remove and reinstall mine every 2 years just to pass inspection

Another no vote. I've installed headers on almost every car I've owned, but I would not bother if:
1. I lived in a place that had such polution laws
2. Had to switch them out every couple of years

After just doing my longtubes and removing the a.i.r lines since my longtubes don't have them, I would not want to go through the hassle of swapping them out every 2 years. Not that its a hard job, but it is tedious and time consuming (and i have a 4 post lift in my garage).

I agree with the others - to me it would not be worth the hassle of changing the headers out every couple of years.

People are definitely getting inspected in california with long tubes...there are tons of people with modded cars. You just have to figure out how and where to go to get it done.

I was just looking at these and all are marketed as for C6 models. Any issues with it bolting up to the C5? Sorry this is my first car I am personally going to work on myself and am teaching myself as I go.

Ask around in your area. I am sure there is someone who will "pass" it. Problem solved.
