History lesson in pics of all 7 Gens of Corvette trucking/Train delivery~Mike Furman*
~I have been thinking about doing a post like this where I show all the different Generations of Corvettes as they either leave the plant via truckload or by train and then arrive at the dealership. Having started selling Corvettes during the tail end of the 3rd Generation I felt it would be good to share these pics starting from Generation 1 all the way thru current day 7th Generation. So here are pictures spanning 66 years of Corvette production 1953 thru the model year 2019.

Thanks for sharing. Especially interesting to see the early ones on a truck. I assume '54s because of the tops. Having a '55, you can see that the doors didn't fit well, right from the factory!

Those are some great pics Mike. I grew up just north of Paramus and spent a lot of time drooling over C4's at Malcolm Konner.

Love the pictures, thanks for sharing. Great to see how each generation looked on it's trip to the ultimate buyer. It would be very interesting to know how many of those vehicles are still on the road today. Just a thought.

What I find most interesting is in the difference in trucks between the C1 and C3. One truck carries four cars, and is a simple two level trailer. The other is a modern trailer with all the hydraulics, and carries ten cars. Then the truck with the C4s on it has eleven cars.

The picture of the Corvettes on the rail car brought back my memories of seeing the aftermath of a major train derailment near Washington, DC in the early 70's. I was a teenager then and the sight of several derailed and mangled rail cars full of brand new destroyed Corvettes is something I have never forgotten.
Three years ago a friend of mine gave me his mint condition 1996 Corvette shortly before he passed away. By coincidence, he purchased the car from Criswell Chevrolet. In the owners manual case I found the business card for Paul Melloni who was the salesman. I wonder if he is still there.
