Default Timing Chain Damper Question

Guys this damper on Lingenfelter sight when reading description leads me to believe its a replacement for LS3 that has the spring loaded tensioner. On Summit racing it says its for the LS7. Wouldn't this fit both the LS7 and the LS3?

Thanks Maspirito....so you took yours off an LS7? I just want to make sure this will work on my LS3. It says on Lingenfelter site it will....on Summit it doesn’t. I personally think it will work on my LS3 bit wanted to see if anyone here had any experience or could see why it wouldn’t?

you can use the heavy duty factory LS2 chain dampener p/n 12588670 that came on earlier LS2 cars on your LS3 car.the factory LS7 chain dampener is a copy of the heavy duty LS2 chain dampener but the LS7 dampener is 1.1mm thinner.if using the LS2 dampener you won't end up with pieces of your dampener in your oil pan

Thanks guys! irok...when you say the LS7 version is 1.1mm thinner than the LS2 version are you meaning the distance it protrudes of the face of the engine block? or are talking about the width between the timing chain when the chain installed?

no the actual thickness of the factory LS7 dampener itself.Your Lingenfelter dampener may be speced differently than the factory piece
