Default Anyone tried this Steering wheel?

I'm from Australia and looking to substitute my original steerer with the below 14' from Ecklers, just wonderin' if anyone has one and what they think of it. mahogany or leather? which is better for the driving experience rather than looks or both?

Ours is a 72 Ontario Orange with black interior

I believe I own the black version of that wheel, I like it a lot, much easier to get in and out of the vehicle.

Taylor, black version as in leather or black spokes and mahogany? Just wondering if I get the mahogany whether it gets a little slippery if you have sweaty hands? As being in our hot Summer sun thats bound to happen.

I'm not sure this is the same wheel, but I like it and the grip is great. It's sure a lot better than the vega wheel that came on my 76.

I have a very similar wheel which came in black leather. I recolored it to match my interior with vinyl dye. I love it. I don't think I would have liked a solid plastic wheel as much as the softer leather wheel.

I have this same wheel on my 82. Got it for free from Orange Coast Corvettes many years ago. They had it dropped shipped from supplier and was to send me an invoice but went out of business. Someone got stuck for ~$125 at the time.

I have the woodgrain one in my 72'.....I would never go back and in fact sold my stock wheel. Factory wheel is too big around for me to adjust the column properly and I am 6' 225......it also makes the telescopic better for me to put the wheel where I want.

So, what did you need to do to add this to your 76. Mine has TT and I've heard they're different from other years.

This is what you will need to upgrade a 76 column. There may be other vendors

The Vega wheel didn't seem so bad back in the 70's when I owned 3 GT's but something is wrong in the universe having the same wheel in a Corvette! LOL

The one in my 76 got so darn sticky and it seemed as though the more I cleaned it the worse it became. I bought the upgrade kit a couple of years ago for less than $180 and I see that it's now over $200.
