Default Off-Roading in a C7Z

The road isn't always this bad but this is a state maintained road is one on my regular commute. It's amazing to me that the same car the rides well, can break 2 min at VIR, can also get down it.

The "stance" and Zaino crowd should probably look away.

Must be a real adventure in the rain. I understand the car will do it and it's apparently necessary for you to make that drive but this cannot be any fun at all.

psh... that's still a road!

no, i feel your pain... my temp house last year was on a dirt road that turned into a mud bog with every sprinkling of rain, so it was a nightmare coming home if i got surprised by a shower while i was out.

I have 6 cars and no way!
It could be the king George's castle on the other end for free and I would pass. No living on unimproved roads for me. Bad weather you can't get home.
That does look like a road for a Z06 let alone a ZR1?

Damn Dude where do you live - at the top of Wolverton Mtn? (remember the song)
There is no way in hell that I would drive my Z on that pit every day. Get yourself A beater and you'll sleep better.

LOL, I laughed that whole video. My parents own a beautiful house up in New Hampshire and I have been dying to take my car up there in the summer. About a mile from their house it turns into a dirt road like this and I just cant bring myself to drive up it. It doesn’t bother me to drive on a track and have rubber bouncing of the nose. Probably worse than the dirt road but I think the pucker factor listening to rocks hitting off the wheel wells may be too hard to listen too. Good luck driving the new zr1 down that. Lol

hHHhahaahha I laffed at that one!

OP, that isn't a paved road, is it? Sure doesn't look like it, or it's a cinder road.

Holy crap!

Are you still running the Cup2's?

I did not hear the sandblast I would expect from them on a road like that.

I think you'd be better off with something like this...

It's gravel, at least usually. When it gets really wet it turns to clay and mud in places.

You know, the cars really fare much better than you might think. In the end I sell or trade them for largely the same value the Zaino club gets and I get to enjoy the car and live where I like. The only part I really hate is that you almost never show up with a shiny clean car because even if you wash it before you leave it's a dirty mess by the time you get a few miles down the road.

Reminds me of some of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Roads I learned to drive on. That was 60 years ago and some of them are still like that. I can see why you were having trouble getting your car on and off the trailer and getting the trailer turned around.

You need a Durango SRT. Just, of course, to tow the Z over the crap till you get to Z roads....

Good for you Shawn i do the same dam thing with my Watkins Glen beast! It can all be washed off any time. I agree enjoy them till its time to give them up. We have a lake house in the Adirondack mountains of Upstate NY. My wife packs up the Z with the dog and a weekend worth of stuff and drive some really cool country roads for 75 miles almost every summer weekend. Just as much fun as a rip around one of the worlds greatest tracks! Then we drive a half mile on sand and gravel mix to the house.

Its just hard to understand the versatility of these great cars unless you go thru all of this

And I thought my road was bad.
I'm glad to see you are enjoying your car...
