Default Cannot get high pressure steering hose screwed back in

Is there a trick to this?? I cannot get the high pressure hose back into the rack. This **** is literally impossible. Any tips from someone that's experienced this?

Many times you are out of alignment by just a hair.
Whenever I'm doing pressure/fluid lines, I try to push the metal tube of the hose into the connector and that allows you to slightly pivot the line in order to align the nut. By doing that - you have a little leverage to line everything up and you're not trying to draw in the metal line as it's already there.

Also, if you turn the nut backwards, it will make a little hop/skip - that's when you know that if you start turning it in, the threads are ready to engage.

I will share what I did. I tried to get the fitting into the rack like you are describing. I could not get it started. I gave up and unhooked the pump end of the line and I then was able to start the rack end without any problem.

I would do this way again if I had to do the job again. Just my way of doing it.

This is all i can get threaded, I might just end up taking out the bracket and doing it as you described.

This is what I do as well.

It's a VERY frustrating connection. I remember the first time I tried, I was so upset that I had to walk away from it for the night before I made matters worse.

Wiggle the line to find the unloaded position, hold it there and screw in by hand, try wiggling a tad as necessary to hand fit it, a wrench could “monkey” up the works, torque it up after it is seated. Holding the line to keep from moving being in the natural position for the installation, I always work the harder to get to locations first ,leaving the other end loose.
You may need to bend the line slightly to get to the point where you can do this , use your thumbs and palms of your hands n be easy with it.

when I did my rack, I go to this with drivers wheel off and rack mount bolts loose
Had no issues getting both hands in there to get started

The two fittings are very close in size. If you didnt mark one ,,make sure that you grab the right one.

Very good advice. Also, check the threads on the end of the hose to make sure they did not get damaged in any way. Check closely.
