Hey gang I have a question, are shift kits still a good idea for my 97 C5 and who has the best one B&M or Transco?? My car has 44k on it if that matters. Thanks

Is there any particular function of a shift kit you are looking for?
Most shift kits, especially in older transmissions (TH350, TH400, etc), are used, in part, to speed up the shift time. Typically the discs are slipping for a soft, slow, comfortable shift; however, this "comfortable" shift also generates more heat.
C5 transmissions can be tuned/programmed to change the shift points, shift speeds, etc,. You may find you get the firmer shifting benefit of a shift kit by just having your transmission tweaked and not having to tear into your trans.
