NCM Insurance (my positive experience)
This is positive feedback on my first claim having NCM insurance.
This past Friday I had an unfortunate run in with road debris, took out a chunk from my ACS composite side skirt and a 3x3” chunk under the passenger side door. No question the side skirt took the majority of impact.
Made a call to NCM insurance an hour later, assigned a claim number then transferred to a claims examiner. Hour later get a call, very nic3 gentleman named Paul. Made some suggestions on getting an estimate for my 17’ Stingray, uploaded pictures of damage, VIN, etc.
On Saturday after getting two estimates uploaded the one I wanted to use, $825 to repair small area. However nobody would take care of the side skirts being a non GM part. Also called GM since I have a loan and check would be a two party check, me and GM since I financed through them.
GM stated I needed to sign check, mail them check with receipt of repair and they would then mail back the check to repair shop. I needed to pay to get receipt. If I paid out of pocket and mailed GM check they stated they would apply it to my principal, there policy is only to pay repair facility and not give it to the owner, even if repairs were already paid for.
After talking with Paul Saturday afternoon I explained my dilemma and he stated he would see what could be done to cover my losses and
Monday morning I get a call from Paul:
They called the repair shop and arranged to keep GM out of the picture since the cost was under $1000, check would be made out to me and the body shop. Second they will be cutting me a check to replace pair of side skirts and include one hour of labor to cover my time since shop won’t install after market parts.
Checks both went out today, all in less than two business days. Of course if costs exceed the estimate they will cover that.
Great customer service, came up with options that worked for the customer, glad I had them for my coverage. Now just need to hope for a good repair job. Using a Chevy body shop that does a decent volume of corvette sales and repairs.

Negative. The NCM insurance is usually a "agreed upon value" type policy. Does have some limits in terms of where and when you can drive your car and how many miles per year. Doesn't meet my needs but works for many C7 owners. I drive mine all year and don't like to have limits imposed.

OP, thanks for the post! It is always great to see a very positive outcome! Sorry for the damages, and glad the process went well. Paul is a great guy, and I will be sure to pass this onto him and his supervisor.
