Default Just upgraded from C6 to C7, few questions and my thoughts

Well I finally did it! I upgraded my 2008 Vert for a 2017 Vert. I wasnt planning on doing it so soon but my passenger door was not opening, the shift unlock issue was happening from time to time and I needed new tires so those reasons gave me a good excuse to do it!

My Thoughts:

I have had a C5 and a C6 and those drove very similar, if you closed your eyes, it would have been hard to tell which i was driving. However the C7 is completely different. Its comfortable, very responsive with turns and seems faster than my C6. I love the interior upgrades that chevy did, no longer feels like a cheap car. i also love the technology improvements, from HUD, Dash and Stereo, and the sound is great!

A few Questions:

1.) So now that I'm a 2017 owner, what should i do next with car? what are some do's and dont's?

2.) I love appearance mods so I plan on getting the front z06 style spoiler, the side skirts and rear spoiler but i like attention so i want some other stuff, can you think of anything?

3.) Exhaust...the louder the better, i had SLP loudmouths on my C6 and it was pretty good.

Beautiful! I have found a muffler delete is perfect for loud and poppy. Sounds perfect.

Sweet ride! Congrats

I can't help on mods as I don't own a C7 yet. My C6 went thru mostly aesthetic mods. I found the SLP Loudmouths to be too loud at least for me.

Well, let's see how we can spend your time and money:

Black out the chrome grill bar.

Remove the chrome Stingray emblems from the front fenders.

Replace the front and rear side markers and rear reflectors with black ones.

Do the X-pipe conversion for the exhaust.

That's it for now. Car looks great the way it is.

It depends on what options your car already has.

If if you have the NPP exhaust, just keep it as-is. Some people do an aftermarket X-pipe for a little more sound. (Mine is a Z51 with NPP, and I am happy with the way it sounds. I have no desire to change it.)

If you don’t have NPP, I would look at the B&B bullet exhaust. This would be my “go-to”.

I like the way your car looks with the black paint/ chrome badges/ silver rims. It’s a classic look in my opinion.

I would add the stage 1 front splitter without the front fender spats. Consider the side skirts too. (I’m on the fence about the skirts as far as my car goes)

I like the CF dash. My car is a 1LT and doesn’t have it, but I’d like to add it.

Find a car wit the sport seats and see if they are comfortable. I’m thinking about adding them to my car because I hear the add an inch or so of headroom. I also like the way they look.

I'd take the license plate off of the front, put gas in it and let it rip just as is.

.Grats on the purchase. As far as recommendations, a z06 grille is a must IMO. Drastically improves the front end and 30% better air flow than the base grille.

ACS mud flaps (wider and deeper than GM) and any brand side skirts to prevent rock chips.

Also consider wrapping the front end.

Corsa Extreme/headers --- will really give it some character, and people will hear you coming and going for sure (no drone inside).

Congrats! Quite a nice upgrade.

1. Start modding! Do a few mountain runs to get a feel of the car.

2. Besides front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler, look into getting splash guards (OEM or ACS), Z06 front grille, Z51 sway bars, MGW shifter (if manual), skip shift eliminator (if manual), Diode Dynamics trunk and license plate LED's, jacking pucks and a clearbra (Suntek Ultra or XPEL).

3. If you like it loud, Corsa Extreme, Borla ATAK or Akropovic.

An unpopular opinion here (it seems) but my suggestion would be what not to do. I'd leave the stingrays, personally. I'm very happy with my Grand Sport but the hardest part of ordering one was realizing that I'd never be part of the Stringray club. It was the original Stringray, already a classic when I was a kid, that made me notice Corvettes in the first place and I've dreamed of owning one ever since then.

Range afm delete will keep your car in v8 mode and keep your torque converter healthy. This is a must, cost $200, ZO6 grille, rear spoiler, front splitter, side skirts, silver window shade with Corvette logo, battery tender, The rims you have are great. Congratulations and have fun.
