Picture needed - 1969 Roadster under deck lid
I'd be grateful if anyone could send me a picture of their hardware setup under a 69 roadster - most specifically the left and right deck lid bow locks that hold the pins when the ragtop is up. I had to restore my passenger side bow lock as the tension spring broke - it had the tension spring in the middle of the lock versus to the side like the one on the driver's side....but I keep getting sent the wrong component from the supplier I'm ordering. Just want to make sure I originally had the right part on there, or if there are different configurations that work based on what the supplier is sending me.

The pictures bradleyb66 posted are of the early 68 single hinge pin design latch. In late April 68 they went to a split hinge pin design latch that was used until the end of production of convertibles in 75.
Either design will work with the soft top hold down pins. If you have a hardtop, you have to use the split pin design if you have the long studs that were used starting in late 68+ to hold them down.
Part of your problem with finding the correct latch is you can find the same GM part numbers used for both the single and split hinge pin lock designs. I think these are service parts.
Attached are pictures of the late 68+ spit hinge design latch.

John, I'd love more info on this also - the new 68-69 Technical Info Manual & Judging Guide doesn't seem to show this. I have no way to verify how/why my car might have ended up with 68 only latches, but I've been documenting all non-correct items on my car (just for my personal curiousness), so I'd like to be able to verify this. Thanks!

I've always enjoyed finding the changes that occurred on 68s and 69s, so for me they are my favorite models years.
I would judge the NCRS Technical Guide for 68/69 as just OK. I haven't seen the newest version yet, so it could be improved. For 68 I can think of about 100 changes made during the course of the model year. The Technical Guide discusses maybe 30% of them. For some things they actually give you misleading or out right wrong info. The best part of it I find, is the Chevrolet Technical Service Bulletin in the appendix. Read through them. They can give you a pretty good idea of the things that changed and approximate dates they occurred.

Rookie question: Are the two "locating pins" near the front of the deck lid used on '68 lids.
If so.....where would the locating "holes" be on the body of the car?
I'm rebuilding my deck lid (long/weird story).
Thanks

That go into two plates with bushings that are attached to the top of the birdcage and 1/4 panel and surround if I remember right. Bought all that for my conversion but didn't use them, I'll send them to you if you want. I'll try a and find a pic of them and send that first.
