Default 71 vette new crate engine vacuum question

Thanks for any info and input.

I am dropping in a new 383 into my car and am concerned that it wont create enough vacuum to run everything. I have talked to different engine company's and they all say the vacuum comes from the cam shaft used and to use one that created more vacuum reduced performance. Reliability is most important to me.

My question is should I go the cam shaft route and if so any recommendations or should I use an additional vacuum pump?

Here is a link to a pump I found. Any and all recommendation on tis much appreciated. I am looking for a 383 with between 400-450 HP and also great reliability.

how are you going to get an Edelbrock RPM Air Gap to clear a stock small block hood?
Ask Pace how much vacuum that engine develops at idle and if they think it will work for power brakes.

My 355 with a 227*@0.050 and 0.560" lift HR cam gets me about 15" vacuum at 1000 rpm idle with initial advance of ~20*.

Edit: 112 LSA.

That's a blueprint engine btw, maybe cheaper buying directly from them?

I dont think you would have any vacuum issues with that motor you linked to.

Do you have any issues with that blue print. Im trying to decide now if I go with a crate from Blueprint or ATK or a local engine guy near me. The prices are good on those but at the same time I talked to a friend who said they control the price by also putting in cheap parts and those will fail down the road.

What has been your experience?

I have only driven a couple of miles with my Blueprint 396 but I'm very satisfied, it's a monster, burns the rubber on all gears
Got more then 25hp over what the homepage said also
