Default Hooked on Corvettes Track Day With HOD And Abel Chevrolet May 10th

We're getting close to my favorite track day of the year. Yep, the Hooked on Corvettes sponsored by Abel Chevrolet is just around the corner. The date this year is Thursday May 10th and we'll be running the 3 mile Thursday and full 5 mile Friday.

As always, we will have Chad and Jim on hand to provide track assistance, swap out brake pads and fix any other issues you might have.

David Ray has thrown out the challenge to get this event full of Corvettes so we don't have to let any of those pesky P cars, F cars or Fords into our play ground so sign up early and post up if you're planning to join us.

HOD is also doing the Weds afternoon lunch run and Taste of the Track the day before.

I like the flyer they made this year

This is an incredible event, if you have ever wanted to do or experience a day on the track, this is the one to do.

That sounds cool. Any idea if a c5z with a billyboat catback would be a problem with the 103db limit?

you just leave it in a higher gear or lift when you go past the shack

Anything special about this event besides lots of vettes? Just wondering cause I'm used to a cheaper price for thunder hill. I want to go, just always have to justify costs in my head lol.

I think you will be fine. I have 700+ horsepower, 2" long tubes, no cats and straight through mufflers. My car is usually right at the limit for Thunder Hill and I'd imagine your car is several dB lower.

That also works... The sound station it Thunder Hill is just on the exit of T15, entering the straight so it's possible to roll through the corner and/or short shift to pass.

This event is not much different than a typical Thunder Hill except it's with a bunch of like minded Corvette owners and a safer environment than most other track groups.

Sweet, I think you'll like the GS a lot better than the Camaro.

Yep, for your own protection. This is the case with nearly all track groups that are focused on safety.

The pricing is available in the link I posted earlier. It is all handled by Hooked on Driving. We just sponsor the event, bring technicians and help them get new Corvette owners on track.

You can bring as many people as you want, but they will need to register and pay if they plan to drive a car. If you want to give ride-a-longs, HOD will issue wristbands for passengers after they've signed a waiver on track. There are always other people willing to give rides as well.

We encourage new people to this and we always get several people hooked each year. We all bought cars designed for the track so lets get out and use them

Looking like I will be attending at least one day! Hopefully I will be doing both. Really looking forward to trying to hang with some really fast drivers!

Quite jealous! have a blast everyone.

For newer vette owners or those new to tracking. This is a great chance to sync up with knowledgeable people and become a bit more in-tune with your car's performance envelope in a safe setting. Worth the price of admission and then some. I can't imagine anyone going home disappointed.

if something brakes, Rich will fix it. lol

Well let’s not get to carried away. Lol.

Jim and Chad will fix it lol. They are THE BEST when it comes to our cars.

Richies one of the smartest people I know when it comes to GM that’s for sure.
