Grand Sport-Daily driver?
Hello all. I've had several Corvettes over the years and have never used one as a daily driver. Just now getting my new GS and I am thinking why not?
Are there many out there that use their Vette as a daily driver?
Thanks in advance..

Not sure about "many". Certainly up here in snow, salt and sand country they wouldn't be practical. That said, if its nice out at all the Vette is on the road. I bought it to enjoy it.

I feel the same as mdb917 - I'm in NJ but I drive my '18 GS every chance I get. Sub-30's, rain, sun, clouds, wind....but I draw the line at snow. Good luck! It's a car - drive it!

My GS is my daily driver and only car. My C5 was my daily driver and only car for 18 years previously.
Why park it when you can drive it.
Northern California.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll be fine after it gets rained on the first time. The weird part it is, the car has been waiting for me since Monday to be picked up but I was waiting for a nice day. I have some adjusting to do.

I daily drive my C7 GS and love it. After having a garage queen C5 for many years it is nice to downsize to one vehicle and enjoy it everyday. Of coarse I'm in south Florida so the weather does help things a bit!

Depends. Mine is a manual and I drive it to work in heavy traffic maybe two days a week, and on the weekends. Otherwise I drive my Macan, which is an automatic and far quieter. Not sure I'd want to drive the Vette every day, but there's no reason you couldn't.

I have daily driven my Vettes for 21 years, including a Z06 and a Grand Sport. I have another Grand Sport ordered that I will drive every day.
They are too much fun not to drive every day.

I drive my Z07 M7 GS everyday, 5K miles in 5 months.
Weather mode is great, use it a lot til the tires warm up.
Competition seats are very comfortable, love how sit in them rather than on them.
Drive it!

My GS 2018 was shipped to me six weeks ago. I passed 350 miles today. This is my first Vette out of three that has not been a true daily drive.
To tell you the truth, I really miss driving it for all of my daily transportation needs.

All my and our vettes (C3; C6; and two C7s)have been daily drivers, in North Alabama and Florida. Icy roads in Al. were dicey but did not stop us from enjoying the ride.

Here's a different perspective for you: Mine is not a daily driver, and I could not see driving it every day. I am tall with long legs, so getting in and out is a bit awkward. Once I'm in, its very comfortable. Visibility also isn't that great for me since the roof line is low. I have to lean forward to see the traffic lights if I'm the first one in line. It's also not very fun to drive in heavy traffic where I have to change lanes frequently, or in the city where I have to park next to curbs or constantly check my blind spot. The wide track and tiny rear windows limit blind spot visibility and make it hard to accurately judge where the wheels are.
If I was buying a daily driver, I would probably go the BMW M route for better visibility, head room, and ingress / egress.
This is not in any way a criticism of the Corvette. I love mine for what I use it for, and I wouldn't have any other car. I have a Silverado for family outings, and general utility, and a Prius as a daily beater. However, my physical dimensions and geographical location make the Corvette impractical for daily use.
