Will you use Chevy's new app to pay for gas from your car?

The meat of the article:
To make in-car payments you’ll have to download and open the Shell app, which will then send your location (without any privately identifiable information) to Shell so it knows which station you’re at.
You then tap “Pay and Save” on your vehicle’s display. After choosing the payment method you want to use, you’ll receive a three-digit code for the pump at which you’ll refuel. Go to the pump, enter the code and you can start refueling.

Let the gas jockey run the card before or after he pumps the gas.
I'm tired of all these ridiculous apps,

I guess this is good if you're out without any money or credit cards on you and need gas, or the potential safeguard of not getting your cc info swiped by a skimmer, but otherwise, I doubt it would be any faster than getting out of the car and swiping your cc like normal.

Ridiculous, hell of a lot easier to get out swipe card pump gas and on my way.

We have problems of CC scanners at gas stations pretty often, and not just in "bad" areas. If you're really paranoid about it, I guess this solves that problem until they can intercept/replicate the signal.

When can we start using Apple Pay at the pump?

No. Shell gas is by far the most expensive here.

It eliminates the possibility of a card skimmer device so that’s a plus.

Why is this in C7 Gen, does the app only work in a C7?

I have a Shell gas card (free), swipe it and get 5 cents off a gallon, swipe the old debit card, and off I go.
Of course now with the criminals you have to make sure no one has messed with the card reader every time you fill up, and cover the number pad with your hand in case the asshats are close by. I hate a damn crook.

Wasn't aware of it..... Now I am...... Nope.
If I could pump before I pay, I would use cash. Because I don't run across that option, it's put on the one and only credit card I have.
If restaurants stop taking cash, which I hear some are, I'll be eating elsewhere. I can't remember ever paying for a meal using a credit card.

Bingo. I see some actual benefit to something like this. CC skimming at gas stations is waaaaay too common, around here at least.
