Default New Oil for ZR1

Havig trouble getting my breakin oil change done due to a shortage of the new type of oil for the car. Any thoughts on how I can get my hands on some? It takes a 0w 40 weight.

Rick Hendricks locally is saying other dealers overstocked the oil and the manufacturer is back ordered ATM. Those dealers who have some are not letting it go. Any thoughts or help would be great. If you know someone who has stock and willing to sell it PM me.

I had problems with this as well. Dealer didn’t have the oil and had to order. They were able to get it in 2 days.

I think he's referring to his Z06?

The oil shortage is real in Michigan too

It took us 2 months to receive the oil, but we ordered 2 months ago and have plenty on hand now. The moment GM announced the new Mobil One ESP 0w40 was coming, we ordered 50 cases and we've received 30 cases so far.

I am surprised a dealer like Hendrick and other large volume Corvette dealers were not more on the ball with getting orders in early.

It is also now available in 1 quart sizes (part #19370233), which will replace the 1 liter bottles as soon as stock has been depleted. The part number for a 55 gallon drum is 10370234 and should also be available soon.

So I've been using 0-40 for some time now but I see that the price for 5 quarts has gone from $25-$30 to $40+. What's with this? Did they change the formulation or is this just gouging?

The ESP 0w-40 has reduced zinc levels to protect "emission systems" as one would expect. I'm sure there are other differences too other than a higher price.

The old 0-40 is not the same formula. Different oils!
