Default Another Dyno Thread

Just thought I would post this up to try and help anyone that might be undecided on which mild mannered combo to use for their car.
First off my mods are as follows
Ahp 116 Smog cam
Ahp package #4 heads with street porting and .30 mill.
Msd intake ported by Ahp.
Halletech 108R cai.
1 7/8 American Racing header with gutted cats.
The car also has a Corsa car back system that was on the car when I purchased it.
The headers and Halltech were installed over the winter so I will need the check engine light turned off and the car fine tuned but I enlisted the help of a well known shop in Delaware and should be making the trip down tomorrow morning.
I will let you all know what the results will be when I get them. I know it will be at least 525rwhp because that is what I had prior the headers and Halltech, dare I hope for 550rwhp.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Very similar to my overall mod plan. Can't wait to see the results.

Do you know the brand of dyno that will be used?

Good luck!

I believe it is a Dyno jet, I am actually at Rpm Motorsports waiting for Fran to do his magic.
I will let you know as soon as I can what the results are.

Awesome. Fran's a great guy. Tell him Jason from the old days of CamaroZ28.Com said hello!

So you made 525 with the factory intake? Nice!

I would bet with headers and intake you will see 30 to 45 more at the wheels!

O.k. in the end the car made 534 rwhp and 497 pounds of torque and the air flow also got better.
The car runs very well and for an 8hour 400 mile round trip ride on used about a tank of gas.
The red on the dyno chart is how the car performed before Frans tune and the blue is after the retune.
The odd thing is that Fran could only pull 12° of timing from the car.
Either way the car runs and I plan to fully enjoy her.

I suppose if the opportunity arises but I don't see that happening, I did take it on track at the corvette museum which was an awesome time.

How is the drivability of the car compared to when it was stock, assuming you had it when it was stock? Just wanted to see if there were any negative drivability issues with this mild cam compared to stock. I stuck with the stock cam and bolt-ons and making 526rwhp with stock drivability. I toyed with going with a mild cam, but so far have resisted.

Honestly the car runs like its stock with the exception of 10-15mph parking lot cruising, then it seems buck or jerk a little if you don't ride the clutch.
Overall I like the combo very much.Fran set the idle between 750 and 800 rpm. This cam does rock a little but it is very very minor, I guess that comes with every aftermarket cam.

I'm pretty sure your car made RPM's weekly video

12:18 mark.

I'd expect at least 10-20 more rwhp with that combo. I wonder if you had a bad batch of gas? What spark plugs were you using?

They were NGK TR6 platinum plugs and I had just put fresh 93 octane in a day or two before.
I am just a little stumped as to why timing changes had little affect on this combo.

Something is definitely off especially because the dyno graph is using STD correction, not SAE. You're 20-30hp off with STD correction. Have you discussed it with RPM? Unfortunately you're in a tough spot because it's an AHP package which was installed by you or another shop, and tuned by RPM. So it's hard to get support when you don't get everything from one shop.

Bill thinks it is either in the heads or the can, I know their B3 cam package makes over 600rwhp with a factory intake.
