And here I am

And here I am
Hi Obviously Im new here.
I just got a 1968 StingRay off eBay for $5200. Its kinda jankey. Transmission feels loose in the linkage. It has one of those Hurst Handles. Stupid Konig wheels. It looks like the tilts been taking off and its just a straight rod. Strange Blue fabric upholstery. An Eckler Front Clip no Headlight boxes. Engines Beefy and Roars for sure. New Brakes that dont work. (They only slow ya down anyways) Tiny little Steering wheel for someone with small hands and no tummy. Did I mention the dead battery?
Now I know what your thinking. This guy is one of us and he saw a travesty and decided he was going to save it. Nope thats not it. All I did was get carried away in an eBay auction. Bid a price I thought no way I could win. Tick Tock Tick Tock the countdown began and as the last few minutes ticked off I started to realize I had just bought a Vette.
My wife had asked me a couple months ago what my dream car would be and I said an early model C3. The kind my Moms boyfriend had back in 74. His was probably a 71 or something. I remember it was hot. So then I started perusing eBay and Craigslist. I would make ridiculous bids on eBay thinking that well if I did win at that price it would be worth it. Slowly my bids kept getting higher and higher until I am where I am today.
Wello, I could just sell it. I might get $7K which after shipping is what I got into it. However at this point I would like to put it back together and drive it normal. Now Im fine with a fake C3 meaning reproduction mirrors and stuff, It doesnt have matching numbers. Its got a 4 speed Muncie and a '69 350. I really just want to get rid of this Eckler clip and get a proper 68 or something with that famous front bumper look to match the years look.
Im here looking for advice. Looking for good parts resources. Tips and experience from those that have weathered the trails ahead. Your input is appreciated.
Git er done!

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations (I think ) on your C3!
Lots of good people and insight in the C3 section of the forum and they might be able to help with leads for replacement pieces you may want/need. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1968-1982-5/
