Default Question for early C4 owners

There is a member (Terry85) who just inherited a low mile 85 coupe. In the pics he posted, the siderail covers are plastic, with what looks like a vinyl pad next to the seat. Was this stock from the factory ? I have never seen another car like this.

Yeah, it’s there. I have it on my early ‘86.

My 89 didn't, don't know when they stopped it, but I liked that idea, my sill getting in and out use wear out the carpet, and replacement wasn't cheap!

My '87 has it, so that only leaves '88.

GM SPO mentions through '87

Mirrock from time to time offers them on eBay. Here's a link where you can inspect from all sides, top and bottom.

Same here, I like the idea of possibly adding them.

Yes, my '86L has them.
FYI, the original acrylic tops on the early C4s have pads around the inside frames. They are not available anymore. If you order a new top, peel the old pads off before you ship the old core back!
