Just received my z51 style "carbon fiber" spoiler i bought off eBay for my base non z51 car....WOW is it a piece of crap!!!!! its abs plastic with a carbon fiber type overlay or tape? its just garbage i wouldn't put this thing on my worst enemy's honda.
Anyway iam just looking for a decent quality piece i dont want to buy another one and have to send it back like i do with this.
There are varying levels of quality in eBay CF parts. The good ones are CF laid over fiberglass. You'll sometimes get minor imperfections but what you received is unacceptable. I would expect the seller to accept a refund + pay for return shipping.
Some vendors on these forums sell the same products from China so this isn't an ebay exclusive issue.
Got my Z51 style spoiler from West Coast Corvettes. OEM quality. It was on sale, but I'm sure I still paid more than e-bay price. I tend to stay away from e-bay items for just the same reason as the OP stated.

Yeah those two pics dont even come close to showing the lack of quality... here a couple more, i set it on the car just to see what it would look like.
Oh man, you're right, that's crap. And, you may have saved someone else the trouble by posting the pictures. I don't blame you for sending it back.
I can't imagine anyone putting this on their car. the auction showed a photo of 2 tiny spots that looked like the gel coat had dimpled but GEEEZ! My pictures are just a small sample of the issues this thing has.

Thanks for the link...they do have nice looking stuff. The z51 blade style carbon piece they have looks good
its crazy how bad this is and you can't tell from photos... they say its made of ABS but its the thickness and quality of a whiffle ball bat at best... or like a jug of milk with a carbon fiber sticker on it...its that thin of plastic

I bought a splitter, hood vent, fender vents, quarter vents, side skirts, and a Z06 rear spoiler, all in carbon. Every piece is immaculate, but it's $$$$$
