1977 c3 blowing just on feet. I have replaced control unit. Vacuum lines hooked up etc. Figured replacing with new control unit it would solve my cold feet hot body problem...Not..According to manual there is an actuator behind center gouge consoul. It is my last resort. I can reach my hand up under there and feel part of it but not enough to get it out. My question is can I pull just the center gouge consoul out to get to it? Thanks in advance

Just a shot in the dark.

What is the condition of the vacuum supply line coming out of the firewall? Often they develop cracks as the hose bends out of the firewall. Sometimes the leaks are covered with pooky.

A faulty or leaking vacuum switch would be suspect also.

The control vacuum switch is brand new. I had 2 so I swapped them out to make sure. Not sure about the vacuum feed coming in from fire wall. My headlights work great. Open and close fine. If that is an iindicator of good vacuum. Don't have a gouge to check it.

Some of the new vacuum control switches have a known quality issue. Make sure you have no hissing or leaking there. Willcox sells modified replacements.

The vacuum supply line for the ac is black with a white stripe. It's slightly to the passenger side of the firewall. It is independent of the headlight system.

You might try removing your passenger side lower dash pad and check to see if the plenum door white plastic actuator/connector is broken, leaving the door stuck open. This is a pretty common failure. Mine was broken. I see Wilcox now offers a reproduction piece for $25 to repair this.

You'll have to remove the center cluster, then the main duct behind it to see this actuator link, but it's probably broken and not letting the door move.
