Default L72 vs L36 66 427 oil pans

I noticed on my L72 425 Car the oil pan has a center oil pan bolt at the front right in the middle of the lower curve that serve to help seal the pan
However on the L36 427 390 car - there is no bolt in that spot. Is this correct? I checked my judging manual but did not see that called out.
Thank you.

The front center bolt was used on all passenger and Corvette big block engines in 65 and 66. It was deleted for 67 and later. Some early production 67's had the 65-66 oil pan with the hole for the bolt but it was not used.

The bolt (actually, a screw) was a 1/4-20 with a dished head and a curved attached/loose washer. That unique screw was available from GM decades ago.

As to what Criter said all 65-66 BB also had a timing cover with a welded nut in the center for that bolt. The configuration of the pan beside the center bolt is the same from 65-74 though

Guys, does someone have pictures of both the timing cover (with the center nut) and the oil pan with the front center hole? I don't think I've seen either. Bill
