Default C7 seat thigh pain fix

This is how I fixed the the pain in my left thigh. I tried the drilling the foam in the bolster and it did not work. I found the support bar for the cover that holds the switches for the power seat sticks up and pushes on your left thigh. All you have to do is take a 5/16 combination wrench and a screwdriver to make a T Handel and bend it down. You do not have to remove the seat just push the seat foam back at the top of the seat controls to see the the support bar. Put the open end of the wrench over the support bar where it angels back towards the seat and push down until it bends. It takes a bit of pressure but it will bend down. This totally corrected the problem. It did not affect the way the seat looks. I will post some pics I hopes this helps someone I thought I was going to have to sell my car because it was so uncomfortable. This is my third corvette I have had a 01 Z06 05 Z51 vert and now my favorite 14 vert.

Very clever. My skinny body works just fine with the bolsters the way they are, but I admire your creativity.

Thanks for the tip Greg. I have to shift my rear to keep it from bothering me. With that simple fix I should be good to go next time.

Does this cause any other problems, like does the switch plate become loose / come off?

gregmc, can you post a front on view picture (like the others you posted where the bar is on top and the switches are underneath) to show what the support bar looks like after you bent it down? Thanks.

This is a picture of the drivers seat after the the bar was bent. The original pictures were the pasanger seat before they were bent.

Brilliant...Thanks for posting. That could explain why my base 2014 2LT seats were even more uncomfortable than my 2016 2LT Z51. Both had the same seats only the 14 was Kalahari while my 16 is black. Could be a slight difference in the way the seat bar was bent. Even though my 16 seats feel a little less comfortable on the thigh i have been wanting for a little less pressure on the leg. I will try this solution tomorrow.

Beautiful Stingray!

Over the years, I found that exercise that included weight resistance solved any muscular malady I'd had in my before exercise life. I just don't experience seating trouble anymore. Good luck!

I raised the seat bottom back by adding 4-5 washers under the back bolts of the track

Great pics and description. I don't have issues with the seats at all, they are great, but have seen a number of posts where folks complain. Was not sure why. You provide the reason and solution! Thanks. Will copy this Thread link and have ready when it pops up again!

I don’t have this problem on the passenger side but it is a little tight on the left.

There is only a bar on the side of the seat where the controls are.

And if you mean the right side of the car the answer is yes. Like Greg said, it's at the seat controls.
