Default Fabricated some custom eye lids tonight

Just finished fabricating these eyelids for my C7. Looking for a more aggressive Ferrari inspired look. I think it turned out pretty good for a $5 mod. I'm sure you all have mixed feelings you'd like to share

Looks good in the pic. Does the color match perfectly - hard to tell from the photo.

The color is very close, if not perfect. The main difference is the lack of clear coat. The eyelids are vinyl so their only semi glossy.

That's probably it then, missing a bit of shine... maybe put some quick detailer on it and see if it gets a bit more glossy.

Not a bad idea. I haven't applied any wax to it yet as it was starting to turn to dusk. I have some nice carnauba wax that gives a deep wet look. Honestly the gap around the light bothers me more than the lack of gloss. I considered buying some painted ones but they look like they bulge up and don't lay flush with the body.

Good luck, whatever you do. Even if you end up hating it, it just cost $5 and a few hours time tinkering around.

I am sure you spent a good amount of time on those the fit and finish looks great, personally not my taste but I am glad you like them. You did a great job making them a few coats of clear and they should blend in much better. Reminds me of the Volkswagen guys that weld the extra metal onto their hood to create a boser look.

lol, jk.

I dig it (as long as it doesn't affect your vision at night!)

Gotta say, the decals flow perfectly with the other lines of the vette's bodywork. Nice work

That looks pretty cool - I wonder how they would look in black.

Looks good, they do have a gloss clear coat vinyl that you can lay over it that might help. What vinyl did you use?

Nicely done. I would get glossy vinyl if I were you but the fitment is spot on. Have a template to share by any chance?

Nope, just layed a piece of paper on the light and traced the body lines to make a pattern.

I like!

Now you should make up some sets and sell them on Fleabay. Mark it up 1000% corvette tax just like every other forum vendor!

Nicely done!

I did this for my Blade Silver C7 last year. It's one of those "love it or hate it" mods where responses are generally pretty polarized. I did it as a fun project one Saturday afternoon and left it on because it was subtle on the silver config. I used the 3M 1080 film as well and it matched beautifully with the Blade Silver paint.

Some more photos with better lighting. Color might be a touch more orange than the paint depending on the angle.
