I swapped in a 3.07 rear and now from what I can tell I need a green 42 tooth speed sensor gear for my 96 auto.
Unless a 'typo' your '96 needs to have calibration done in the PCM. 4L60e don't have direct drive/driven gear for VSS. It's electronic 40 pulse I believe.

Yep, shouldn't a dealership be able to do this with a Tech2 (or someone with a Tech2). The other alternative is someone with a Jet box (that someone could be the OP buying one, the OP buying another VIN for someone) etc.
Also, couldn't one of the other major brand 2 way tools that act like a Tech2 do this ?
There is a screen in the Jet software just for this.
Thanks for the info, with three auto trans offered in the c4 it's been a little difficult to to figure out what I need to do. I'll call the dealer and see what they can do.
