Default 1967 Corcette ad.

Look at the used car ads too. Brings a tear to the eyes!

Wonder what year that ad was published. Late’67? Maybe ‘68?

I think you're right! $3795 was still a lot of money for the 67 used in 68. I had that exact car new. Same powertrain, but also had A/C and side pipes, and cost new in 67 for $4800!

A 67 Corvette Sting Ray convertible was my first Vette. Paid $4400 for a new one.

Sure was a lot then. Got out of the Navy in 69 and had saved enough to buy a 69 SS Chevelle 396 for $3200. Brand new! But a Vette then was out of my reach. Can't believe the cost difference between a new Vette then and what I paid for my 427.

I hear ya! My current Vette cost 4 and 1/2 X what my house cost!! Of course, in 73, my house cost $20,000.
Sad thing is.......in my town right now, things are so bad that I wouldn't get much more than that now.

All things being relative, the average family sedan new in 1967 cost about $2200, just about half of what my car cost new. Today, the little look alike Mickey Mouse cars cost about $30K, also just less than half the cost of an C7 GS at about $65K

using a standard inflation calculator:

$3,795 in 1967 → $28,291 in 2018

Where can I get a new C7 for 30 grand??

The $3795 is for a used car! You're right about those inflation calculators.

I don't see an expiration date. Think we can still get that deal
