Default Testing Done-It's Safe To Leave The Range Plugged In

After a long term (4 weeks) storage test leaving the range plugged in and continually monitoring the battery for battery drain I found none at all.

Yep, I think Range finally nailed it with the 8.6 version. No CEL's with mine so far.

Several dozen starts/stops for me and no issues either. Seems to be working really well

Does anyone know if using the Range voids the GM warranty?

I think the idea is it leaves no fingerprint so they can't tell if you have one.
I certainly wouldn't leave mine plugged in while taking the car in for service.

2017 Grandsport left without battery tender hooked up and range plugged in,,no starting issues or cel...The wait was worth it,,for version 8.6..

Kudos to Range Technology. It took a while but they finally got it right. Well done!

A Chevy tech told me if you use OnStar they will know if you have something plugged into the OBD port.

What is "using OnStar"? I've never pushed the button but I get monthly updates via email.

Subscription. He said if I subscribe to OnStar they would know if anything is plugged into the OBD port. I don’t know if that is true or not. Just relaying what he said.

I would like to get a Range but if there is any chance it could void my warranty I will not get one.

Not any different if you were using the paddles. V8/4 is just about GM meeting federal regs.
