Default 66 Mosport - any advice on red/white/gold line tires?

I will probably go 215/65/15 from what I see on other posts those work well versus 205’s

just can’t decide on the line color. Any advice on tire size or color welcome. Pics would be great as well.

thanks all!

Probably get a lot of disagreement but I like the narrow whitewall clean look myself. As a bonus, there are more brands and sizes available and at a much lower price.

My personal preference is a gold line with the Mosport. I have a Trophy Blue '66 and am getting ready to put a set of wheels/tires together to use with my original hub caps and have decided to go with gold lines for it too. I think they're very complimenting for both of those '66 colors.

I also like the look of the narrow white wall. To each his own!

depends on budget. white lines you can be out the door at most local tire shops for less then 400 bucks. for goldlines your be lucky to be out the door for less then 900 bucks.

me I like the goldlines. but the budget minded me likes the white lines in the picture above

215/70/15 gold lines by Diamondback, if they have them.

Since I'll be painting my current build Mosport Green with no strip tires, as 20" rims even with 28.3" tall tires over 26.3' dia tires make side wall look even more narrow on either.

The white side walls make for a classier Look for the color to me.

If I were you, I go with what side wall color you think looks best, for appearance/look you want your car to portray to others.

Because Mosport Green 66's are so rare, the color it's self draws people over to look at them vs other more common colors. Doesn't need flash to do it.

Another opinion..... 205-75x15, white or gold.

Definitely not red lines and not taller than 15" wheels.

Gold Striped tires were offered in '65 and '66, only two years and only on the Corvette. This guy loves 'em !

All 3 look great but my preference is Gold Line, DB tires will make them for you in the size you choose, right around 800 for a set.

White lines tires goes with any color scheme of your car and for around $ 400 tax and labor. Gold lines do not always look good with some exterior paint colors and cost around $1,000- $1,200 tax and labor. Corvette Forum members have never complained of rubbing issues of stock P205/75/ R15, the recommended size for knock-off wheels as per Corvette America.

Surely there is a way to paint the thin whitewalls?!? I have Michelin’s with the thin whitewall on one of my cars and I’ve been meaning to research gold paint that would stick to the tire.
