Default Where are people mounting vintage air compressor

I am pondering putting Vintage Air on my 69 project.
I did not come with air. It also does not have power steering

One advantage of the Vintage Air system is it replaces all the
ducts, which mine are trash.

I am trying to picture what the accessories would look like

Thanks

Default Sanden

The compressor that Vintage Air and others use is a Sanden. It is mounted on the pass. side of the engine just where the factory A-6 compressor was mounted. If your alt. is residing there now, it will have to be moved to the drivers side. You will need a new alt. mounting bracket as well as an extension for the wiring. Depending what pulleys you have, you may need to buy one to drive the compressor at the crank. Go on the Vintage Air website for further information. Jerry

I put a Vintage Air kit in a 77 I had. The kit came with all of the brackets and pulleys needed. Very easy install, other than the control head, (cables and minor wiring) since the kit is for the early style thumbwheel control rather than the later style slide bar style.

I just about finished installing the Vintage air in my 69 which had no air. Let me know if you have any questions.

Perfect
Do you have a picture?

Did it come with the brackets to mount it?
What about the pulleys?

Anything needed from the original duct work?

Thanks
Glenn

I can take some pictures this week. The engine bay is done but not the interior yet since I have the interior out of the car still. It comes with the bracket for the A/C pump and you just need to get a belt to connect your water pump and crank pulley. They replace almost everything except for maybe the round diverter vents in the dash.

The install is pretty straight forward. Lots of boxes and pieces. Opens up a lot of room on the passenger side engine compartment because the blower is moved to under the dash.

Right now my car is a shell getting painted
I am wondering if now isn't the best time to do the install with both the interior and engine out

I removed the old blower, heater core assembly etc when the body was off and put the new blower assembly in. The rest you pretty much need to wait for the body to go back on.

Vintage Air puts the compressor on the passenger side like stock AC. It uses their own brackets etc etc. Everything tucks up nice and stuff is hidden pretty well.

Are you going to keep the smog pump?
Are you going to add power steering?
If not, then it's relatively easy to use the existing pulleys (if you have 2 grooves at least?).

I have Hot Rod air but the Sanden compressor should be about the same.....

Let me get some pics of my 68--- my L79 68 was not available with PS AND AC. I added both so had to modify my AC Compressor mount.

This is more of a hot rod, so no smog pump and no power steering
