Default How can I get in the 10's 1/4 mile

Hey guys, new to the forum I have an 09 velocity yellow corvette! I am shooting for the 10s!!! Juat looking for some feedback or advice to if anyone else has hit 10s with roughly the same mods as myself! Side note- I do plan to get a McLeod twin disc clutch and drag slick setup before July 7th (streetcar takeover Charlotte) where I intend to get my 10sec pass!

as of right now I have the following mods:
-stage 3 tick polluter cam
-long tube headers
-x-pipe
-2 step
-tune

510 rwhp from an LS3 with just a cam and headers??? I don't think so. I'd like to see the dyno chart on that one. I call BS. I don't think you are even close to 10's.

You car can have all the horsepower it wants, but if it cant put it to the ground then its pointless. What kind of tires are you running? And how good are you at shifting?

LOL....let us not forget that this is Corvette Forum....where anything is possible. Saw one post a while back where the guy/gal said that they could get any stock C-6 into the 10's simply because they were so good at hole shots.... Saw another one once where the guy/gal suggested that a typical stock C-6 should reach 200 MPH in about 17 seconds..... again. Isn't technology wonderful !!!!.....

Default Mid 11 s

I am thinking mid 11 s with your set up. 10 s are probably going
to require another 150 HP. Good Luck

that's what I was thinking! I have seen them time after time on YouTube hit 10s with a good clutch and drag slicks at my power level or even less

According to my experience, your 2009 Vette is going to need a minimum of a 1.6 60' and a 7.0 at the 1/8 to run a 10 anything unless you have a ton of back half power. The 1/8 timeslip shows power in the lower 400 range, but nowhere near the 514 shown on the dyno sheet for whoever owns that 2008 Vette.

My opinion is that you either can't drive well enough or the 514 hp on the dyno sheet is wishful thinking. Maybe both.
